Administrative history

De Heilig Hart Studiekring werd opgericht op 23 november 1945. Oorspronkelijk waren enkel heren welkom, vandaar de officiële naam 'Studiekring voor Heren'. De studiekring had als doel om vorming te organiseren voor belangstellenden met een culturele, sociale, godsdienstige en esthetische invalshoek. In 1955 werd de studiekring erkend door het Ministerie van Openbaar Onderwijs.
Vanaf 1947 mochten ook dames af en toe deelnemen aan de vergaderingen. Vanaf 1958 werden ze bij elke vergadering toegelaten. In 1958 werd ook de Feestzaal in gebruik genomen. In 1964 werd uiteindelijk een officiële naamsverandering doorgevoerd. De 'Studiekring voor Heren' werd veranderd in 'Studiekring Lier - H. Hart'.
De vereniging werd ontbonden in 2011.
