History
De wolweversgilde richtte zelf een huis op voor de verarmde gezellen, genoemd naar hun patroonheilige. Het huis was bedoeld voor oude, invalide of verarmde wevers. In de 16de eeuw ging het godshuis teniet (troebelen, achteruitgang wolveversgilde, interne onenigheid). De stad verbeurde de goederen van het godshuis in 1767 aan het jongensweeshuis en later behoorde het aan het bureau van weldadigheid.
